Jarvis Green
- personal trainer,
business owner,
entrepreneur

Jarvis, originally from Chicago, grew up in Norfolk, Nebraska, where his love for basketball opened doors in athletics and beyond. After losing his father to pancreatic cancer in high school, he committed to prioritizing his health and helping others do the same. He played college basketball at Northeast Community College and Peru State College, where he earned a degree in Exercise Science and developed a deep passion for fitness. As his wife Ale healed from chronic health issues through nutrition, their shared journey led them to embrace holistic health—and faith. Jarvis became a certified personal trainer in 2017, and what began as accountability during new fatherhood became a calling: to help others honor their bodies and grow stronger in body and spirit.

Ale Green
-Stay-at-home mom,
notary public,
self-taught business administrator

Ale’s passion for health began with her own battle against chronic illness and years of medication. After moving to Lincoln with Jarvis, she turned to healing nutrition, eventually restoring her health and defying doctors’ predictions by becoming a mother. Her faith fueled this transformation and continues to guide her in life and wellness. With a background in healthcare and nearly a decade at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital, Ale shifted her focus to supporting their growing family and GEM Health Fitness. Now, she works behind the scenes- learning marketing, operations, and entrepreneurship on the go. Her faith has been a constant source of strength and direction. Her mission is to help others find healing through faith, nutrition, and natural health. She also recently became a notary public and has been working on launching her own notary services business.

Fitness Experience

Jarvis’s journey in fitness began early, with organized basketball starting in 6th grade and continued involvement in football and track throughout middle and high school. His athletic abilities led him to play collegiate basketball at Northeast Community College and later at Peru State College, where he also earned his bachelor's degree in Exercise Science.

His first certification was as a Strength and Conditioning Coach through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA). In 2017, Jarvis began his professional training career at the YMCA, where he worked with a wide range of clients. While there, he also assisted with Special Olympics programs and trained youth athletes, helping them improve performance and build healthy habits.

In 2019, he joined the Madonna Wellness Club as a water class instructor, expanding his expertise in low-impact, joint-friendly training. During his time there, he had the opportunity to work with high-level collegiate track athletes from Wesleyan University, further deepening his experience in athletic performance training.

When the COVID-19 lockdowns hit in 2020, Jarvis launched GEM Health Fitness to continue serving clients virtually and in-person. His mission has always been to help others care for their bodies—what he calls their "temples"—with intentional movement and faith-based encouragement.

In 2024, he joined VASA Fitness as a personal trainer, continuing to support a diverse range of clients. Over the years, Jarvis has worked with everyone from young athletes to elderly individuals, always tailoring each program to meet their unique needs, abilities, and goals.
