He was a professor at the School of Fine Arts of Valencia, where he was awarded the Gran Cruz de la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in 1902. His style was predominantly Naturalist, while he also enjoyed realism. His paintings were influenced by Ignacio Zuloaga. Artistic career After completing his studies at the School of Fine Arts of Valencia in 1888, he began to work in the center of the port of Valencia. Due to his exclusive focus on painting, he left the port in 1892. In 1894 he moved to Madrid, where he enjoyed a warm welcome from the artistic circle that was gathering around the journal Panorama. He maintained a regular practice of illustration and acquired the reputation of a warm and gifted humorist. He lived in the Madrid province and went to Paris in 1911 for a few months, when he first visited the exhibition of the Salons, particularly the works of Greuze and Ingres. During this trip to France he was struck by the influence of the new French realism on Spanish painting. Muñoz worked regularly for the magazine Panorama until 1927. He was an active participant in the Saint Simonian reform movement and in 1914 he became one of the founding members of the Spanish section of the International Order of Saint Simon. In addition to his highly regarded publications of the Spanish Revolution, he also created the cover of the magazine El Sarape Rojo (The Red Rope), the magazine created by the Saint Simonians to circulate their ideas. He also sketched the cover for the very first issue of Revista Vida (Life Magazine), created in 1917 by the FRSH association. He also regularly illustrated the magazine Panorama during its last years. His work began to express a strong love for nature and his painting became increasingly realistic. His style was and remained predominantly naturalist, but he also enjoyed realism. In his works, he sought to immerse himself in the subject. His designs for the cover of the magazine Panorama were very popular and were gathered together in 1942 by the editor Manuel Felguérez. In 1944, he represented Spain in the International Art Exhibition in Bucharest. After working for several years on the covers of Panorama, he was invited by the magazine Parisien to collaborate in the direction of the illustration and in the artistic direction.
